Whitney de Haan is a PhD-student who conducts PhD research at the Vrije Univerity Amsterdam and Leiden University. The PhD project of Whitney de Haan is entitled: ‘An intervention-based diagnostic instrument for assessing parenting potential in child protection cases’. The project will take place in two psychiatric facilities where families can stay when children face out of the home placement. The goal of the research is to develop an diagnostic instrument based on the VIPP-APP (Video-feedback Intervention to promote Positive Parenting for the Assessment of Parenting Potential) to help guide professionals in the decision-making process of out of home placement. Her main field of expertise is Child and Family Studies; Child Abuse, Attachment & Sensitive Parenting.
